Each Research Team has a project meeting every two weeks, and our whole Institute has a monthly All Hands meeting (for some reports of how we used those as we got started, see our 'Spin Up Workshops' below).

Now that we have a better sense of what worked, what didn’t, and how we can build on this going forward, we’re excited to announce a coming Workshop inviting the broader community to think with us about these challenges. We’re targeting late summer / early fall of 2024. Please check back here soon for dates and details about how to participate!

SPIN-UP WORKSHOPS

Our PREEMPT Institute’s focus is on rapidly responsive, productive, and collaborative multidisciplinary teams, tackling challenging problems identifying and understanding tipping points in complex, multidomain systems. As such, our proposed efforts did not involve externally facing workshops as part of our Phase 1 effort, but focused on internal workshops across the 21 researchers who are senior personnel of our Institute. These workshops have the goal of building and cementing close working relationships, building common understanding necessary for excellent communication across fields represented by our participants. We also ensured the involvement of postdoctoral and graduate researchers and aimed to build a shared, purposeful collaboration on not just our scientific products, but the process by which we achieve them. As such, below we have the list of monthly “All Hands” Workshops we have hosted during the PREEMPT project months through April.
